Shortened issue periods for popular hold items: To reduce wait times on popular materials, we are reducing the loan period to two weeks for items with five or more holds on them. This will hopefully ensure that customers do not have to wait any longer than three months for their hold to be filled. This change will come into effect on the 1st of August 2015.
Reserves / Requests

- Children’s and teens’ items free
Note: There is no limit to the amount borrowed on full adult, junior and community group memberships. If someone wishes to borrow all items on a subject, we may ask you, in fairness to other library users, to limit your selection. Parents are responsible for items taken out on their children’s cards. Items may be renewed once if there is no request on the item. CDs and DVDs will incur an additional charge. Overdue fees are charged from the day after an item was due. Borrowers will be notified of overdue items by email or mail. Text and email notifications are available for pre-due reminders and holds. Please ensure your correct contact details and notification preferences are set by checking on My Account or seeing a staff member in the Library.

Billing notices will also be sent when charges over $10 are incurred. Replacement costs are charged for lost or damaged items.
You can now pay your account charges online using internet banking. Our account number is: 01-0771-0018890-04, account name: Upper Hutt City Council. Please enter the name of the library account you wish to pay as the reference.
