Better Digital Futures for Seniors

During May, in partnership with the Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa (DIAA), Upper Hutt Libraries will be starting the Better Digital Futures Programme for Seniors.

Better Digital Futures Programme is for seniors (people aged 65+) seeking help in going online. Participants will learn new skills and build confidence using computers, smartphones, or tablets, and the internet.

Upper Hutt Libraries are running two courses over May- Digital Essentials and Digital Apps. Each course is four x 2 hour long classes delivered in a small group at Upper Hutt Libraries. Participants can bring their own devices or use library supplied chromebooks.

Each course will be run over two weeks- Tuesday 10-12noon and Wednesday 10-12noon in the learning center.

Those interested will need to register for each course separately. There are 8 spaces per session. Click the links below to register.

The Digital Essentials Course will cover the following:

  • Tuesday 2nd May- Session 1: Intro to Devices
  • Wednesday 3rd May- Session 2:Intro to the Internet
  • Tuesday 9th May: Session 3:Intro to Email
  • Wednesday 10: Session 4:Intro to Browsing

The Digital Apps Course will over the following:

  • Tuesday 23rd May- Session 1: Getting to know your phone
  • Wednesday 24th May- Session 2: Libby App
  • Tuesday 30th May- Session3: Online Banking
  • Wednesday 31st May- Session 4: SuperGold Card
