Living Lit is an open book group that meets every second Thursday of the month between 5.45 and 6.45. There are new topics each month, which are decided by the members of the group at the start of the year. These topics can be anything, ranging from a wider genre to a specific subject. There is no limitation on what people can read within this topic, fiction or non-fiction, and no matter how many books are read, we will discuss as many of them as possible. The basic idea is this: read the book, and then come along for an evening of tea and biscuits to tell us all about it.
The books discussed each month are noted down by the library staff member in attendance, and these are then presented for viewing on the Living Lit Pinterest page: https://www.pinterest.com/uhlibrary/living-lit/.
There is also now a Living Lit monthly Newsletter, in which the books read the previous month will be presented, along with recommendations for the next month’s topic and a review card on the back for group members to complete.
