Self-service kiosk for sight-impaired people
Accessibility to our services is very important to us, which is why we have turned off the lights of one of our self-service kiosks. Feedback from sight-impaired customers showed that the blue light around the screen made it harder for them to read. So don’t worry – the lights are off on purpose!
There is also the option to increase the font on all our kiosks, and by changing the colours of the return shelves next to the kiosks and the corresponding pictures on the screens, we make sure that colour blind people can tell them apart.
If you have any other ideas that might help us make the library even more accessible for everybody in our community, we’d love to hear from you.
